Igarapé Institute is a progressive social cooperation agency committed to effective and accountable community security, safety and development. It seeks to enable positive social transformation by strengthening local organizations and facilitating synergies between different agencies and actors involved in the design and implementation of public and private policy and programs.
Its key objectives are to:

• Provide strategic advice to public and private organizations in order to catalyze progressive social investment;
• Promote the adaptation and inclusion of effective ‘social technologies’ in international development and south-south cooperation programs;
• Produce policy briefs and practical recommendations for improving domestic legislation and project implementation; and
• Strengthen the capacities of local partners to better design, implement and manage community-based projects
